The Cheval Canadien at Equine Affaire 2018
Equine Affaire is one of the largest equine events in the Northeast, bringing 96,000 equine lovers from across the world! This year Kismet Canadian Horses participated with CHHAPS (Canadian Horse Heritage and Preservation Society) to bring the Canadian Horse! It was Destiny's first time off farm to a large exposition and we couldn't have been more proud with how this two year old handled the whole experience with grace and nobility.
Destiny soaked up all the attention from her fans over the three day weekend; people were amazed with how well this two year old filly was so calm in nature and seemed unfazed by the hustle and bustle that was happening around her. Being stalled in a barn holding hundreds of other horses there are noises that she is not normally accustomed to hearing, and she proved that Canadian's are level headed and adaptable. Above in the right corner you can see Destiny is being held by my six year old daughter Kinsley for a 2 year old toddler to love... not only does Destiny respect the guidance that her tiny human is relaying, but earlier that day she was groomed by Kinsley head to toe without need for adult intervention.... SHE IS JUST THAT GOOD!
The Canadian Horse participated in two breed demos over the four day event, one in the Mallory building and another in the Coliseum. This was Destiny's first time as a breed ambassador, promoting and presenting the very best of the Canadian Horse breed. I could not be more proud of this filly, she came into this exposition with minimal training, and she rocked both demos. Most Canadian horses are known to be black, and Destiny wanted to show people that the breed does have other colors, some very special and unique like hers!
Destiny was presented in both demos in-hand; there were many spectators interested in her unique look, and she was more than delighted to stop on the sidelines to say Hi to her fans!
It was our first expo together, hers as a two year old filly, and mine as a handler...she handled it with grace and maturity more so than I could have ever asked. It's so hard to find the exact words to express my take away from this experience except... PROUD 💓 proud to be an owner of this special filly...proud to be a breeder and proud that I am stronger for the journey
